1- Lock in = گیر افتادن توی جایی

2- Lock out = گیر افتادن بیرون از جایی
The Smiths got home and found out that their son had locked them out of their house.
3- Punch in = کارت زدن قبل از شروع کار
Don’t forget to punch in as soon as you get to work.
4- Punch out = کارت زدن هنگام خروج از محل کار
Sally is not at work. She punched out at 5:10.
5- Put out = خاموش کردن سیگار یا آتش
Put that cigarette out immediately.
6- Put out = دست یا پا را دراز کردن
Mike put out his leg and tripped me.
In a jam = توی دردسر
Get out of = از شر چیزی خلاص شدن
Fly-by-night = غیر قابل اعتماد – حقه باز
On the level = صادق – درستکار
Double – check = بدقت بررسی کردن
John Hancock = امضاء
End up = منتهی شدن – پایان یافتن – ختم شدن – منجر شدن به
In the red = متضرر شدن – پول از دست دادن – باختن
Chalk up = بدست آوردن – نمره آوردن – به حساب چیزی گذاشتن
Doug: I hear you’re in a jam.
Larry: I want to get out of an agreement with that fly – by – night organization.
I don’t think they’re on the level.
Doug: You should have double-checked before you put your John Hancock on the contract. Now your company will end up financially in the red.
