1- Head toward = رفتن به طرف مقصدی خاص

I’m heading toward Portland. Where are you going?

Run……….up = قرض بالا آوردن

Giving my son a credit card was a mistake- he ran up a $ 2.500 bill in only one month.

Run – up = افزایش ناگهانی قیمت

Bill was lucky to buy 500 shares of the stock just before the big run-up.

Shut up = خفه شدن – خفه کردن – صحبت را قطع کردن

I can’t hear the TV- can you shut those kids up?

Stop off= توقف کردن در جایی

I wanted to stop off at sally’s house this morning, but I was late for work.

Beat up = کتک زدن

The muggers stole my money and then beat me up.

High and low = همه جا – تمام سوراخ و سنبه ها

Mess = شلوغی – به هم ریختگی

Straighten out (up) = مرتب کردن

Pile up = روی هم تلنبار کردن – شلوغ کردن

Scatter around = شلوغ کردن – دور و بر را ریختن

Slob= شلخته – نامنظم

Turn up = ظاهر شدن – سرو کله چیزی پیدا شدن

Right under one’s nose= درست جلو چشم بودن

Hit the sack= خوابیدن – به رختخواب رفتن


Mike: I’ve looked high and low for my wallet.

Debbie: I see. This place is a mess.

Mike: I’ll straighten it out.

Debbie: You pile everything up and scatter things around. You’re a slob.

Mike: It’ll turn up. It’s probably right under my nose.

Debbie: Here it is, finally. I’m tired. Let’s hit the sack.

مایک: من همه سوراخ سنبه ها را برای کیف پولم گشتم.

دبی: می دونم . این جا خیلی شلوغه

مایک: من مرتبش می کنم

دبی: تو همه چی را روی هم تلنبار می کنی و وسائلت را دور وبر می ریزی. خیلی شلخته ای

مایک: حالا (کیف پولت) پیدا می شه. احتمالاً جلوی چشممونه

دبی: ایناهاش. من خسته ام بیا بریم بخوابیم

1- Hook = چیز مشتری پسند

2- Line = یک سری از محصولات
